Call for 2018 HBMLP Students

The Humanistic Buddhist Monastic Life Program (HBMLP) is an intensive experience in the Buddhist way of life, offered by Woodenfish Foundation. It offers participants exposure to a way of being that is profoundly different from the constant busyness and distraction of contemporary society. Meditation and contemplation provide a connection to the world and other people. In the process of experiencing a different way of life in a Buddhist temple, one discovers different ways of approaching life in the rest of the world.

Applications for the 2018 Summer HBMLP are now open:

*Program is July 1-28, 2018 in Tangshan, Hebei Province, P.R. China
*Free tuition, only pay travel to China and $250 for supplies and uniforms for an intensive and life-changing month
*Daily meditation and meditation retreat
*Learn traditional Chinese culture
*Stay in real, active Chinese Buddhist monasteries
*A semester’s worth of classes on Buddhism
*Earn college credit
*Amazing, experienced staff
*Make wonderful new friends from all over the world (20+ countries represented!)
*Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, final deadline is April 30, 2018
