International Funding Opportunity for Buddhism and East Asian Religions Research in Canada

The FROGBEAR project is working in partnership with Mitacs to accept proposals under the Globalink Research Award Program for senior undergraduate and graduate students who wish to conduct a research project at one of FROGBEAR’s partner universities in Canada:

The award is available to applicants from the following countries:

  • Australia, Brazil, China, EU member countries, Israel, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States

The award provides $6000 CAD for a research project that is 12-24 weeks in length, and is co-supervised by the home supervisor and a Canadian supervisor. Further information about the award program can be found here.

The proposals must be related to Buddhism and East Asian Religions, and specifically to one of the FROGBEAR research programs.  Please note the review for proposals can take 5-6 weeks. Interested students are asked to contact the FROGBEAR project administrator at frogbear.project@ubc.ca to discuss potential projects. The FROGBEAR project will assist in identifying a supervisor in Canada.
