Click here to return to the main conference page Click here to return to the student report page 旭日國際佛學網絡哈佛大學暑期密集型菁英班全程回顧 黃君榑 劍橋大學 2021年8月4日至25日,旭日國際佛學網絡哈佛大學暑期密集型菁英班通過線上授課的方式圓滿舉辦。是次項目得到旭日國際佛學網絡的慷慨支持,並在加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學「拔地入雲:佛教與東亞宗教」 (FROGBEAR) 項目的計劃統籌下,由哈佛大學主力承辦。菁英班面向全球招選優秀青年學子,力求為對佛學研究相關領域感興趣的學子構建一個跨文化視野與跨學科交流的平台,並以此培養從事佛學研究的卓越人才。 不過與以往幾屆不同的是,是次菁英班採取了完全線上授課方式,無疑為在全球疫情下的一次巨大成功。學員來自全球各地三十四所高校,除了全職學子外,亦有數位學問僧尼與在職學生,均秉相同的求學問道之心,齊聚在線上參與為期二十二日的密集研修班。 學員遍佈世界各地,身處截然不同的時區,但在菁英班的號召下於4日的指定時間同時登入系統,參與開幕式。開幕式上,是次菁英班的主辦方哈佛大學汪悅進教授,先為參與者介紹了哈佛大學中國藝術實驗室,並歡迎眾學員的到來。之後則由統籌方加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學的陳金華教授,介紹此項目的理念與初衷,並交代了今年菁英班的日程與內容。陳金華教授首先誠摯感謝了旭日慈善基金會及其創始人楊釗先生的慷慨支持,並感謝了北京大學湛如法師/教授對整個佛學網絡的關懷與領導;之後,他激勵學員們把握這次難得的機會,潛心學習。接著,一眾學員第一次向大家介紹自己,並正式為歷時將近整個八月的菁英班拉開序幕。 專題授課 專題授課與學術講座構成了菁英班的核心部分。先由主辦方之一的哈佛大學汪悅進教授 (Eugene Wang) 就敦煌洞窟中所示之觀音經變壁畫,討論該地民眾群體如何對經文內容進行重新解讀與重新排序,並由此實現創造了自身的佛教世界體系。耶魯大學的葛利尹教授 (Eric Greene) 則帶領學子閲讀早期中國佛教中的禪經與觀經,討論了禪的觀念,並呈現此一觀念如何在禪宗形成初期發展並轉變,並揭示了修禪實踐與文本之間的差異。加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學的陳金華教授 (Jinhua Chen) 引導學生從何謂宗教,去思考宗教作為一種網絡體系的內核,並由此引申探索了早期中國各寺院間的關係,解讀了由寺院與邑義所組成的網絡體系。牛津大學的烏瑞珂教授 (Ulrike Roesler) 詳實地介紹了藏傳佛教典籍的傳承與書寫體系,講述了書籍在密藏系統中是如何與政治相互結合而構成一套獨有的神聖解讀。劍橋大學的高奕睿教授 (Imre Galambos) 從敦煌寫本入手以小見大,討論了藏漢寫本在敦煌諸文化群體之間是如何被應用的,並通過實際例子,解讀了不同寫本裝幀方式與物質形態背後的文化含義。漢堡大學的田海教授 (Barend ter Haar) 則從民眾的角度,引領學生思考佛教一詞在歷史中不同群體間的解讀與定義的差異,並通過分析白蓮教等群體的實際例子,揭示了民眾群體在佛教發展脈絡中的重要性。 上排:汪悅進教授(Eugene Wang)、葛利尹教授(Eric Greene)、陳金華教授(Jinhua Continue reading
