Biography:
He, Shuyue

He, Shuyue

Shuyue He is a graduate student at Columbia University. At the current stage, she is investigating various dimensions (in particular, the political dimension) of Neo-Confucianism and the intersection of Neo-Confucianism with Chinese Buddhism and Daoism. She primarily identifies herself as a philosopher (under training), although she felt a strong need to sometimes ground philosophy in historical sources and textual materials. She is a regular contributor to the News Blog Section at Canadian Journal of Buddhist Studies. Her academic paper entitled “Wang Yangming’s conception of heart-mind” was also featured in the annual Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy Conference 2019. She is now working on the English translation of book by Chinese thinker Li Zehou.
