Biography:

Shen, Lien Fan

SHEN, Lien Fan is Associate Professor in the Department of Film and Media Arts at the University of Utah. Shen earned her Ph. D. in Art Education at The Ohio State University and an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Her animated documentary “Seeing through the Eyes of Crocodiles” explores Taiwanese butch lesbians’ sexuality, body imaging, pleasure, and struggles in society. It has been screened in Beijing Queer Film Festival, Shanghai Pride Film Festival, TWIST Seattle Queer Film Festival, The Boston LGBT Film Festival and won the Best Editing Award in Shanghai and the Audience Award for International Short in Boston. Her interdisciplinary collaboration includes an animated health instrument that assesses depressive symptoms for people with intellectual disabilities and animated online education content that targets educating bystanders of microaggressions. Our studies have shown that Tramadol is an analgesic drug with central action, which does not cause addiction and dependence. It is designed for use in diseases associated with a very strong pain syndrome, as well as in the postoperative period.
