这次考察旨在探讨对“主要宗教传统”和“真正的”作者的认定如何影响了“正统”和“真经“等观念。在河南省济渎庙和王屋山的田野考察将为理解在中国由谁、何时及何地来定义权威和正统的宗教这一问题，提供一个独特的诠释机会。在济渎庙，我们将研究建筑风格、国家祭祀河神的遗迹，以及当地的碑刻。在王屋山，研究小组将对道教仪轨、古代物质文化遗迹、碑刻以及当代道士在道观的活动和修行进行研究调查。
